Chapter 13-
Moment of Preparation

Caleb and Sarah's training being complete, they both would be ready for war. Ready to stop the foxes and overthrow Cuttler. But most importantly, to save Tyler. After three weeks, Caleb and Sarah were prepared for anything. They wanted to go out in the field and fight. They wanted to prove just how capable they are. Colonel Grand gathered all of the soldiers for forming a battle plan. They all were forming in the commanding wing. Everyone was dressed and in uniform, gun at the ready in case of a sudden attack on the bunker. Caleb and Sarah did the same, fully armed; Caleb with his rifle, and Sarah with her sword. As Colonel Grand entered the room, everyone stood at attention.
"Now listen, people, this is the one point where we have to put all of out heads together to form a battle plan." Grand announced with a stern and loud voice, "The first thing we need to do is figure out the landscape we have available to our advantage." A huge projection came onto the huge screen at the front of the room, Breaker at the keyboard, "We are going to manipulate every square inch of this area. There will be no place that we aren't there. Now, there are the buildings, which will serve as a crow's nest for our sniping team. Since we are setting for an ambush at the old town just six miles from our current location, we must use as many roofs and balconies as we can cover. Now for the ground infantry, you will be hiding inside the buildings. The small town is right in between the Fox Military base and ours, so they should make a straight pass through it, giving us the advantage. Helicopters will be dropping all of the infantry off exactly at twenty-four hundred the next day, giving us plenty of time to get some rest, load our bullets, and knock some fox heads." Colonel Grand finished, giving a devious smile, confident in his thought out plan, "You are all dismissed. Get ready, gather food and weapons, and go to sleep early tonight. Tomorrow, the war begins." Everyone left the room to prepare for their soon to come fight. Colonel Grand stopped Caleb and Sarah, "You two, come here." He ordered, gesturing towards the computer. The two of them followed.
"What is it, Colonel?" Caleb asked him.
"Now listen, you two, because this is very important." He whispered, making sure no one was around or listening, "I need you two to accompany me on a special mission. This concerns both of you and you especially, Caleb. We're going to save your brother." Grand said. Caleb was surprised. He had forgot all about saving Tyler until now, and was ready to face Cuttler and save his ransomed brother, "So, you two are going to come with me to infiltrate Cuttler's base, and you are to follow my orders the entire way, understand?"
"Yes, sir." They both said. They were free to go, and they left to prepare for battle. They got their uniforms on, along with their dog tags, and readied their weapons. Caleb was loading his rifle and pistol, while Sarah was sharpening her sword. They both put on lightweight, sturdy armor and bulletproof vests.
"Caleb?" Sarah spoke up. They were both in their quarters, alone.
"Yeah?"
"What if..." Sarah stopped herself.
"What if what?" Caleb asked.
"What if we don't make it? I mean, I know that we can do it, but… what if we don't make it back, and we can't stop Cuttler and save your brother?" Sarah was concerned. She didn't know how this was going to turn out. If anything, she was terrified. Caleb turned to her. He walked over and put his paw on her shoulder.
"It's going to be fine. We're going to be fine." He said, smiling. Sarah rushed him and hugged him, almost crying. Without a word, they went back to their preparation work. After they were finished, they put them next to their beds. They even slept in their uniforms that night, ready to get up at any time, even at midnight.

"Caleb, Caleb, wake up." Caleb was aroused by Sarah's voice again. He knew it was time. He leaped out of bed and grabbed his weapons and ammunition. Both of them then ran to the choppers. They all knew it was time to face the Fox Military, and defeat them. They knew what was at stake in this war, and they took the chances to save their country, maybe even the world, from Cuttler and his illegal army. They all knew that if this mission wasn't completed, that they would either die, or be captured and tormented, but they had to take those chances. They had to face those odds in hope of success. Those with families were grieving in their hearts, unsure whether they would make it back, almost crying. Caleb and Sarah looked at each other as the helicopter took flight. They too, were worried.
"You ready, Sarah?" Caleb asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be." She answered. By this time, they were in the air, soaring over the sandy area, and they reached the small town within thirty minutes. Once Caleb got off the helicopter, he was amazed at the sight. The town seemed abandoned. There was no sign of movement, no sign of life. The town was in ruins, the only thing moving were the awnings on the small buildings. All of the houses were either broken or caved in. They knew that the Fox Military was here. There was no denying it.
"Looks like they bombed the place." Caleb said.
"They bomb any city they come across to gain territory. Damn beasts. They make me sick. Cuttler's worked them all like animals, no mercy, no restraint." Hunter replied, walking right beside Caleb, guns ready for anything that may come out.
"It looks to me as if there's nobody here, I think we're safe." Shade sounded, just getting off the helicopter, Sarah following close behind.
"My sonar indicates that there's no life form here besides us." Breaker responded.
"Well then, we need to find our places in this God-forbidden town. Everyone, ready your communication systems and find a spot to hide until the Fox Military arrives." Colonel Grand ordered, "No one moves without my command." With that said, everyone found a place to stay. They figured they would only be there for a few hours, just waiting.

"Well, looks like you're finally coming out of that little cage." The evil colonel said to Tyler, "You may be of some use in this war after all." He grabbed the little wolf by the scruff of the neck, pulling him out and dragging his body along. He gathered his troops, gave them all orders, and they all marched out. Colonel Cuttler took his knife, along with a sword, and took Tyler along with him, getting into his dune rider and driving out. All of his troops and fleets followed in their own vehicles. There were maybe a hundred vehicles running along the ground, each one holding about seven foxes in them, all ready to fight and crush the Wolf Military, and to show that they are the superior race, just as any powerful, mad-hungry leader thought they were the dominant race, such has Cuttler thought in this manner, inheriting the madness, the power, and the ferocity. He was a dictator in his own world, being self-proclaimed as a deity, a god. He was intelligent, powerful, and seen in the eyes of the public as a natural-born leader, though he was foolish in many ways. He only thought of acquiring ultimate authority over the world, to be sitting on the throne of kings, and to control all that there is to control. This was his goal. This was his folly.
